How
To Use
It is important to wear this
brace correctly. This brace is worn with the main body of the brace
centered behind the knee and the straps are wrapped around to the opposite
sides of the leg, one above the knee and one below the knee; one strap
on the inside of the leg and the other strap on the outside of the leg.
The stays oppose each other and should be positioned on either side
of the leg. The stay pockets are longer than the stay so the stays can
be moved as needed to fit on the sides of the leg.
The brace should be snug
enough to stay on the leg but not so tight as to reduce circulation
or to hurt. This brace should not cause any pain! If there is no pain
reduction while wearing this brace, or any increase in pain while wearing
the brace - do not wear it.
If the straps do not wrap around comfortably, they may be too short--order
a larger size brace.
If this brace hurts, you
may have the wrong one. Return it for the mirror image: if you got an
A, get the B version; if you got a B then get the A. If the mirror image
also hurts, this brace will not work for you.
Remember that a "fit"
leg has little give and will not compress easily. You will need longer
straps to wrap around a fit leg. A leg with a little fat covering the
muscles will have some give or be able to be compressed more and will
require a smaller size brace or one with shorter straps. When buying
braces, a compressible inch means the straps can be shorter as it takes
less length of strap to go around the leg.
The brace works best when
worn during weight bearing activity such as walking, bicycling, running
or standing. Wear the brace when you are mobile.
Unless you are told otherwise,
any knee brace should not be worn during extended sitting, more than
an hour or two, as there is a possibility of reducing circulation.
WASHING INSTRUCTIONS:

Heat will damage both the neoprene and covering. Dirt may also be removed
with damp, cool washcloth. This brace cannot be dried in a dryer or
outside in the sunlight.
DO NOT USE BLEACH
DO NOT DRY IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT
DO NOT USE ANY HEAT. Heat
will damage the neoprene and the nylon cloth covering.
DO NOT WASH IN WASHING MACHINE,
stays may damage your washing machine and your brace.
* DO NOT USE ANY NEW BRACE WITHOUT FIRST CHECKING WITH
YOUR PHYSICIAN, PA, PHYSICAL THERAPIST, OR OTHER MEDICAL PRACTIONER.
